Brothers and Sisters

I had always had a fascination for family dramas. I had been an avid fan of Seventh Heaven until the plotline has become so skewed that the story became really weird for me. So, I never really get to watch the last season of Seventh Heaven.

But when I thought that after 7th Heaven, it was the end of good family oriented drama, ABC released Brothers and Sisters.

Brothers and Sisters takes us to see the lives of the Walkers after William Walker, their head of the family, died of a heart attack. The real story starts there. Revelations of their father's extra-marital affairs, problems with their family business, difference in political opinions and issues about homosexuality and drug addiction were being tackled in the series with the main theme of "though we have different problems, we can get through this as a family".

What I like about the series is that there is the element of reality to it. One can relate with a particular character or several characters in the series. But since this is a TV program, it does look like all the problems in the world landed on them just to show the different struggles of a typical American Family x10.

They have the element of both drama and comedy as any family would have. And the closeness shared by the Walker siblings seemed real enough showing of course the typical arguments any siblings could have and how they resolve it.

The show is currently on it's third season. I have actually yet to watch the third season but I heard that it's promising. To me, Brothers and Sisters is a must watch Family Drama for anyone who loves to see dynamics of sibling relationships.
